4. AI Processing & Third-Party Data Sharing

LearnWhat.ai uses artificial intelligence provided by OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.) to process your uploaded content and generate flashcards. Before any data is sent to OpenAI, the app will clearly inform you and request your explicit consent.

4.1 What Data Is Sent

When you choose to generate flashcards, the following data is sent to OpenAI for processing:

• Uploaded Documents & Images: Photos, PDFs, or other files you upload for flashcard generation
• Notes & Text: Any text or notes you enter as source material for flashcards
• Generation Preferences: Your selected language, card count, and difficulty settings

No other personal data is shared. Your account information (email, name, profile picture), study history, progress data, and payment information are never sent to OpenAI.

4.2 How Data Is Processed

• Your content is securely transmitted via encrypted connections (TLS/SSL) to our servers, which then forward it to OpenAI's API
• OpenAI processes the content solely to generate flashcards for your request
• Generated flashcards are returned to our servers and stored in your account
• We do not use your content to train AI models
• OpenAI does not use API data to train their models, as per their API data usage policy

4.3 User Consent

The app requests your explicit permission before sending any content to OpenAI for processing. You will see a clear disclosure explaining what data will be sent and to whom, and you must agree before flashcard generation begins. You may decline at any time, and no data will be sent.

4.4 Third-Party Data Protection

OpenAI is contractually obligated to protect the data we share with them. Under their API data usage policy, OpenAI does not use data submitted through their API to train or improve their models. 5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud infrastructure provider. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

• OpenAI (AI Processing): Your uploaded content (documents, images, and notes) is sent to OpenAI for flashcard generation, with your explicit consent. See Section 4 for full details.
• Supabase (Cloud Infrastructure): Account data, flashcards, and study progress are stored on Supabase's secure cloud infrastructure.
• Payment Processors: Subscription payment data is processed by Apple (App Store) and is subject to their respective privacy policies.

• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

All third-party service providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the purposes of providing their services to us.
